Family Melody Center not only offers rentals and lessons for all instruments, but we also sell new brand name and used instruments and accessories, and provide expert repairs to keep your equipment running good as new. Cheers to 70 years!
Family Melody Center was established by Irving Rosen in 1956 as Patchogue Music Center.
After graduating from SUNY Potsdam and teaching music for four years, his son Joseph Rosen took over the business in 1966. He and his wife/partner Sandra transformed it into one of the largest music chains in the New York area with five stores in Nassau and Suffolk.
When Sandra retired and Joseph began performing on his clarinet again in 1990, the branch stores were sold and I, after being with the business since 1973, became a partner.
Many, many years later, I took over the business.
I want to thank Joseph Rosen and Sandra McNeil for starting this business, hiring me and giving me the skill set to take over for them. Without my former and current staff, we wouldn't have made it to 70 years. I would like to thank our customers and their families. We are servicing many generations and are excited when they share their stories. You are greatly appreciated as we continue with our trustworthy and friendly service.
